Founded in 2018 by Clea Frost, Plot Twist is a boutique Melbourne-based production company building a slate of unique stories for all platforms. These include digital graphic novel Ashes (2023), fiction podcast Hovering (2023) and feature films A Family (MIFF 2019), Shoshanna (2024) and The Revived (2024).

After witnessing a murder, sixteen-year-old Iranian-Australian skater Azar Warren is sent to stay with her estranged grandfather, Stanley Warren, on his rural Victorian compound. But when the ‘bad guys’ track her down, Azar realises the man charged with protecting her is a serial murderer of young women. Ultimately, Azar bests the crims - including her own grandfather - and inherits the ghosts of the women he killed.

A digital narrative experience that combines graphic novel panels with puzzles popular in mobile gaming, Ashes will push the boundaries of digital storytelling.
